With these things its hard to tell! Perhaps we can keep it simple and credit the design to the director of the design department. With the high ‘standards’ of the Mondeo, it was always going to be tough to keep another model to a similar standard.

I live in China and I see Ford Mondeos all the time. They are head turners no matter how many you’ve seen them. For me it’s the Aston Martin DNA that so clearly comes through from every angle. Though I haven’t seen the 2010 Taurus in person it’s no Mondeo. I think after what seems like an eternity of disappointments out of J Mays and his crew the Taurus certainly points Ford in the right direction. Though I think it’s small penance for the ridiculous and exaggerated new corporate face we must bear on Lincoln products.
Do you think that Mulally deserves the credit for the Taurus’s reinvention in terms of looks or do you think it was strictly Design initiated?

I can see the similarity of the Taurus and Modeo in the front, but the rear reminds me more of the Ford Interceptor concept.
